Dr. Dominique Candrian

Managing Partner

Dominique is a co-founder of EIC. He has over 25 years of experience in successfully leading the development and financing of large energy infrastructure projects in the US, Taiwan, Morocco, India, the Middle East, and across Europe. He is co-leader of Elysium Solar, a developer of agri-pv projects in Germany. In the recent years Dominique was heavily involved in developing reserve power plants on behalf of institutional asset managers such as Blackstone and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners in Germany.  From 2003 until 2019 he was leading the asset management of a family of energy funds (listed equities). He chaired the Boards of Energiedienst Holding AG and EnAlpin AG, two energy utilities serving clients in Switzerland and Germany. Until 2000, Dominique held senior positions within the ABB Financial Services group.

He graduated from the University of Zurich with a PhD in Economics. He was a CFA Charter holder (from 2004 until 2018) is fluent in German (mother tongue), English and French.

Hans-Peter Stöckl

Partner, CTO

Hans-Peter has been a Member of the EIC Team for over  seven years. As CTO, he is responsible for all technical aspects of projects. Before, he was in leading positions for project development, EPC negotiations and project financing at EGL (Axpo) and was responsible for the development of 2’000 MW of combined cycle power plants and a 70 MW wind farm in Italy. At Ticino-based TUMA Turbomach, he was responsible for the business development in Eastern European Markets. Earlier, he worked at Elektrowatt in the field of new energy technologies and was involved in the succesful creation of Calpine, a Californian IPP company.

Hans-Peter holds MSc’s of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration and is fluent in German, English, French and Italian.

Adrian Bobula

Project Developer and Permitting Specialist

Adrian has more than thirty years of experience in the energy sector. He was leading the development of several largescale power generation –  and related infrastructure projects across Europe. In the position of project director, he maintained relationships with stakeholders, banks, equity investors, regulatory authorities, and energy facility operators.

Adrian passed state examination in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in measurement, regulation and automation technology at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. He speaks English, German, Slovak and conversational Russian.

David Altner

Analyst - Renewable Energy Project Developer

David has a background in finance, commodities and transportation, and has previously gained experience at Credit Suisse Insurance Linked Strategies Ltd, Glencore International AG, and CargoBeamer AG.

David holds a MA in Accounting and Finance from the University of St. Gallen (HSG). He is fluent in German (mother tongue), English, and French and conversational Italian and Russian.

Yves Miller

Analyst - Renewable Energy Project Developer

Yves is specialized in mechanical engineering and project development. Having obtained work experience in energy technologies, engineering design, space engineering and nuclear and radioactivity technologies, he is able to apply expertise in form of interdisciplinary inputs to a diverse range of energy projects.

He has previously worked as an engineer at Weisskopf Partner GmbH and in the field of project development for decommissioning nuclear facilities at Paul Scherrer Institute.

Yves holds a federal diploma in design engineering, a BSc of University of Applied Sciences and Art Northwestern Switzerland and an MSc of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich in Mechanical Engineering. He is fluent in German, English and conversational in French.

Nicolas Marchal

Senior Project Manager

Nicolas is the newest addition to the EIC team, having started in June 2023. Over 15 years of experience in successfully managing sales of large infrastructure projects with a focus on gas power plants. He held positions within Alstom, General Electric and Ansaldo Energia in both Switzerland and UAE.

Nicolas has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electricité et de Mécanique de Nancy, France, and currently obtains an International Executive MBA at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). He is fluent in French (mother tongue), English and German.

Eric Baer

Strategic Partner (Australia)

Eric has over 20 years of experience developing, evaluating and advising on power projects, including generation, distribution and retail; focusing on development, commercial advisory, privatization, economic analysis, financing and strategy. He has worked for PSEG Global (a US utility), and Fieldstone, a boutique investment bank where he focused on MENA and African power M&A and privatization (UK, South Africa, Uganda, UAE, Morocco). Based in Australia, works on wind, solar and conventional power projects and maintains ongoing relationships with banks, investors, developers and regulatory entities.

Ruth Beckers

GPFAC Principal (Africa)

Ruth has over 25 years of experience successfully financing and developing infrastructure projects predominantly in Africa, and also in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. She covered the power sector, transportation, and oil & gas. Several projects she developed were the first private infrastructure projects in the country (India, Ivory Coast, Mali and South Africa). Ruth held senior positions at ABB, a family office, and a start-up. Most recently, she has been a developer, financial advisor, Board Member and Owner of an infrastructure project in West Africa.

Ruth has a MBA in Banking from the University of St. Gallen CH; Exec. Master’s in Corporate Finance from the University of Applied Sciences in Lucerne CH. Speaks German (mother tongue), English, French, and Swedish.

Tracey Bollier-Timberlake

GPFAC Principal (Switzerland)

Tracey has closed around $5 billion of projects in the areas of renewable energy, power generation, power T&D, oil-gas-and-petrochemicals, automotive, building & systems automation, and telecommunications in Europe, Middle East, North Africa and Latin America.  A former Vice President with ABB Financial Services in Stamford and Zürich, and has more than 25 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure investments, portfolio management, and advisory services.

Tracey received a MSc in Global Finance (Intl. MBA) from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona and earned cum laude a BA in International Studies from the University of West Florida. She speaks English (mother tongue), German and Spanish.

Victor Alonso De Oliveira

GPFAC Principal (Brazil)

Victor has solid professional experience in Commercial Banking and Commodities Structuring acquired at top-tier financial institutions and companies over the last 28 years. A strong entrepreneurial character, team player and focused on the achievement of results. Has a keen ability to identify and develop financing solutionfor clients, and has a well developed and deep network in the Brazilian financial market as well as on the corporate side, including commodity suppliers, export driven companies and multinationals. Head of Solstice Finance, providing consulting and financial advisory services.

Victor has a Post-Grad degree in Business Administration – Finance from CEAG  FGV (1995  1997) and Business Administration from FAAP (1989-1992). Speaks Portuguese (mother tongue), English and Spanish (fluent), French and German (basic).

Minna Kwai Stalder

GPFAC Principal (Switzerland, China)

Minna has extensive project finance experience as former VP at ABB Financial Services Zurich, successfully closed projects in Asia (including a pioneering $1.1 billion hydro project in China, and structured a Power Development Fund for World Bank that is used to invest in small hydro projects in Nepal), Europe and Africa (a major gas development project). Has managed process and systems control as well as optimization, and has expertise in financial reporting and business analytics.

Minna has a MSc in Management from L’Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (Paris), a BA in Business Admin from Chinese University of Hong Kong (China) and is a fellow at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK). Speaks Mandarin (mother tongue), English, German and French.

Alok Mathur

GPFAC President (US)

Alok has more than 30 years of experience in project finance in the US, India and Switzerland. Was head of ABB Financial Services India (equity, debt underwriting, advisory) and a member of ABB’s Country Management Committee; member of the management team at ABB’s HQ’s in Zurich that grew ABB’s financial advisory business to 140 professionals in 18 countries, closing $5 billion/year; and a member of ABB’s Management Committee responsible for approving equity investments worldwide.

Alok has a BS in Chemical Engineering with Honors, (IIT, India); MS Chemical Engineering (SUNY/Buffalo); and MBA with Distinction (New York University). Speaks English, Hindi (mother tongue), some German, and several Indian languages.

Jim McCrea

James C. McCrea & Associates (US)

Jim led the Credit Origination team at the Loan Programs Office of the US Department of Energy, closing $24 billion in renewable and advanced technology energy projects. VP in Risk management for Philip Morris Capital Corp; MD and SVP at the division of GE Capital – responsible for domestic energy project finance transactions.

Jim has a BA in Government (Hamilton College); MS in Resource Management & Policy (SUNY); and an MBA in Finance (Cornell).

Julie Stewart

GPFAC Principal (US)

Julie has closed energy projects as an investor and financial advisor. As Director, managed acquisition and due diligence efforts (power, electric distribution and transmission companies, water infrastructure assets and power project development) for investor owned utilities for First Energy (GPU, Inc.) and TXU (Enserch Development) in South America, Central Europe, Canada, Southeast Asia and U.S. Managed non-recourse financing projects at GE Capital.

Julie has a BS in Chemical Engineering from University of California at Davis and a MBA from Dartmouth College, Amos Tuck of Business Administration. Speaks English (mother tongue) and some Spanish.

Srinagesh Talatam

GPFAC Principal (India)

Srinagesh has been a Sponsor, Investor and Financial Advisor in India and Hong Kong. 35-year career with National Thermal Power Corporation, ABB Financial Services (Head South Asia), Hyderabad International Airport (CEO) and Pragnya Private Equity Fund (CEO).  Diverse experience in project finance, project development and private equity. On the Boards of Directors of Indian companies and on the Investment Committee of Utthishta Virat Fund; and is an adjunct Professor at IIT and IBS, India.

Srinagesh has a BS in Chemical Engineering from IIT, India, and an MBA from IIM, India. Speaks English (principal language) and several Indian languages.
